I couldn't be more satisfied with the level of service, detail and professionalism Susan Johnson gave to my wedding in October of 2008. As both a working professional, and a person with no familiarity of the New Orleans area (mine was a destination wedding), I depended on a professional coordinator that I could trust for top-notch, dependable vendor referrals and most importantly, flawless management of my many wedding details up through and including my wedding day.

From my first meeting with Susan, up until the day of my wedding, she has been a dependable professional who has been easy to work with. She is detail oriented, highly organized, and a quick responder to any and all questions, concerns or needs I had within my 8 months of wedding planning. On the day of my wedding, I actually just "showed up" to a perfectly managed ceremony and reception that Susan worked diligently with key vendors to provide.

Unlike many other friends of mine recently married, I spent the months leading up to my wedding and more importantly, my wedding day, enjoying every moment of the wedding planning process, never having to make a follow-up call to a vendor, or request copies of contracts, receipts, etc. Susan provided me the freedom to enjoy this special time in my life through the excellent service she provided me. Hiring Susan as a wedding planner was the best decision we made. She saved us a ton of time by only recommending vendors (venues, florists, etc.) that would do the very best job within our budget. When we decided to get married in New Orleans I knew that I would need to find a wedding coordinator because we live overseas and also because neither my husband nor I have any family in New Orleans so we knew that we would need somebody that we could rely on to communicate with all the vendors, make recommendations, etc.

I found Susan Maria Johnson's name on a popular wedding website, The Knot. Many of the people in the New Orleans section of The Knot chat room chimed in to let me know that they had always heard positive things about Susan and her company, Classic Weddings and Events by Susan.

After hiring Susan, my then-fiancée and I scheduled a trip to New Orleans exactly one year before the wedding date for the purpose of wedding planning. Susan met with us and provided us with a detailed meeting schedule with vendors so that we could decide which places and people suited us best.

Over the course of those few days, we were able to book the bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception locations as well as plan for many other details. During the next year, Susan and I coordinated all of the smaller details of the wedding by email. She was always rapid and thorough in her responses to my questions. Even when I asked to add on additional events to the schedule, she handled such requests with ease.

Our wedding went off without a hitch, which was no easy accomplishment given the multitude of events we had scheduled and the fact that all but a few of our guests came from out of town. Our friends and family all had a wonderful time and my husband and I also were able to thoroughly enjoy the wedding itself and all the events surrounding it because we knew that everything would run smoothly with Susan at the helm.

I worked closely with Susan for more than a year and at every step along the way I found her to be not only exceedingly professional, but also friendly and warm and a real pleasure to be around. In short, I can not imagine having had someone with whom I would have rather worked to plan a wedding.
